Anyone aged 16 or older, from any country, who writes horror, paranormal or supernatural stories. Both human-written and AI-written horror stories are accepted — just disclose AI use when you submit.

No. Free accounts can submit stories, publish, earn rewards and withdraw. Paid plans only raise your monthly submission limit and add priority review.

How long does review take?

Most stories are reviewed within 48–72 hours. Priority review on higher plans shortens this considerably during busy periods.

Why was my story rejected?

Every decision includes a moderator note. The most common reasons are plagiarism, being below the minimum word count, a non-horror submission, or content that breaks our guidelines. AI-written stories are accepted, so AI use alone is never a rejection reason.

Can I submit a story written with AI?

Yes. AI-assisted and fully AI-generated horror stories are welcome. Disclose the AI use when you submit so reviewers can assess it fairly. Plagiarism (passing off another writer's work as your own) is still not allowed.

Can I edit a published story?

You can request changes from your dashboard. Substantive edits are re-reviewed before the updated version goes live.

Do I keep the rights to my work?

Yes. You keep copyright and grant Story To Earn a non-exclusive licence to publish and promote the story on the platform.

When is a reward credited?

At the moment your story is published. The amount is fixed by the reward rate of your plan and appears in your wallet history.
